Natura Artis Magistra w Amsterdam

Natura Artis Magistra (Artis) lub Artis Royal Zoo – ogród zoologiczny w Amsterdamie założony w 1838, najstarsza tego typu placówka w Holandii oraz jedna z najstarszych na świecie. Do historycznych budynków na terenie Zoo należy m.in. muzeum wybudowane w 1855, budynek biblioteki z 1867 oraz akwarium wzniesione w 1882. Powierzchnia ogrodu wynosi 14 ha.

I'm not a fan of animals in cages, yet how Artis runs the place (minimum animals, large habitats) is great. Plus: they don't try to be an attraction park. And who doesn't love "Artis de Partis"!

If you forget the fact that animals are there captured and for your pleasure this place is great! Best zoos I've ever visited. Plenty to see from insects to elephants. The butterfly garden is a must.

I love this zoo because it's very spacious for the captive animals and it's a great place to spend your morning when it's nice and sunny . Perfect for families and kids of course
